Access to MTConnect Data Stream for App Testing and Demo

Hi,

I am interested in participating in the 2nd phase of the challenge. However, we do not have any MTConnect enabled machines onsite. I was wondering would the army be able to provide MTConnect data streams from machines that can be used to test and demonstrate any app that is built?

We are working to get access to MTConnect data from several sources. We should have this ojective complete within a couple of weeks. Once complete, we will send out an update to the group via the challange site.

    Sincerely,
    John

The School we are sponsoring is now open called IMESSC (ITAMCO Manufacturing Education School Service Center) . We have connected two machines with MTConnect. Below are the machines and their agent connections that we would like to make accessible to the MTConnect community. So you can pull these up in a web browser and see the MTConnect stream. You can also do monitoring if you would like to start developing software that uses MTConnect. These two machine connections are basic and would be a great start. We are also sponsoring an open house on Manufacturing Day, October 4th, that anyone can attend. Here is a link to the details http://www.mfgday.com/events/weidner-school-of-inquiry-phs

    Hi John,

Do you have any update about the MTConnect data? Since there is only three and half months left to the deadline, we probably will have very tight time to test the application. Please let us know the progress of accessing the data. Thank you for your work.

    Best,
    Eric

    ArvindR2,

Checkout http://www.itamco.com/kinect.html, I demoed this at the last MC2 conference, it's a client app that uses MTConnect protocol to connect to your equipment. We wrote it using Unity 3d, C#, and Autodesk Factory Suite. The cool thing about using Unity 3d is you can deploy to multiple platforms, the app is also available for you to download for free on Google Play and the App Store. We also open sourced the code too. Enjoy! Looking forward to seeing what everyone creates!

All Mori Seiki has kindly made their MTConnect data available via the following link:

(it will respond on probe/current/sample commands as per MTConnect protocol).

All...MAZAK is allowing access to is data via the link below. I hope this help with application development.

It is our pleasure to offer up four (4) V1.2.22 AGENTS on-line in support of the Challenge. These are the latest implementation of the MTConnect AGENT. And with Will Sobel's support, the most accurate to date.

Will and I have done our best to validate the format of the xml for compliance. Below are the four Agent links. They are server based and should provide HIGH availability with the most realistic data possible.

FYI, These links are not working.

Mazak ones are working. It definitely helps with app development. Any possibility of getting context information about components running on these machines? By context, I am referring specifically to part, process plan and G codes associated with them, if these are demo components.

    ArvindR2,

Yes the PHS links (Plymouth High School) are only available when they run the machines and have them on. They usually only have class Monday-Friday, 1:30-3:00pm EST.

I am looking for a sample of historical MTConnect OEE performance data for a small production flowline (5 or less workstations with MTConnect OEE data from each). I assume the data line entries will each be time stamped and product identified.
I would like about a months (or longer) worth of data.
Please contact me rch4oee@aol.com if you have the databases or if you know a contact person that might.
    Thank you in advance

I see that the MTConnect demo agent has commanded and actual positions. The new machine agents dont seem to have this. Has this attribute fallen out of favor?

    thanks,
    Arvind.

ArvindR2...we are looking into your question and hope to have an aswer shortly.

RobertH11...customer sites tend to hold onto OEE data tightly. As this information can tell you alot about the product and site. We are looking to help you. Hope to know more shortly.

    Hi JPSnyder (and others)
The data set(s) does not need to be current. It could be from 12 months ago or even from a discarded product flow line or work station(s).
I am just looking for actual data sets specific to product runs, shift identification and time-stamped event/OEE data/product count.
You could make it less sensitive by changing product names and equipment names before sharing. Thanks

ArvindR2...I went to our technical guru's to hopefully answer your question. See their resopnse is below, I hope it helps.

"While the MTConnect Standard defines a wide variety of data types, devices typically only support a sub-set of those data types. The data types supported by a device is defined in the device configuration file in the Agent. The supported data types can be read using a Probe Command.

In the case of Position - Actual, this position value is the result of a "measured value" - typically coming from a secondary feedback system (like scales) on a particular machine. If the machine does not have scales or the controller on that machine does not independently report the value from the secondary feedback system, it would not be available as a data type. Basically, it all depends on the machine and the configuration file in the specific Agent for that machine."

Thanks. Is the best way to get real time data using mtconnect periodically pinging with current request?
